The 2018 World Cup is being held in Russia, an honor that many feel shouldn't have been bestowed on the country. Russia has sent invading troops to Ukraine, intervened in the Syrian War, is an outspoken enemy of the LGBTQ community, and has a history of censoring its citizens. As a result, some are calling for a boycott of the global event. Still, the World Cup has nothing to do with politics and boycotting an event that unites the world isn't a good look.
