New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was considering retiring after a heartbreaking loss in Super Bowl LII but is now expected to come back. But should he? With the physical toll the game has taken on his body and brain, walking away from football is not a bad idea since he has accomplished so much. Still, he is only 28 years old and can rewrite the history books if he continues playing. He can be an even more legendary player when his career is said and done. What do you think? 🏈

NFL players will sacrifice anything to be the best. They will tear their bodies apart for that record-breaking touchdown, Super Bowl win or a Hall of Fame career. Rob Gronkowski has accomplished all of those things. So why should he continue going through hell?

Gronk has already established himself as one of the greatest tight ends to play the game. After eight seasons, he has four All-Pro Team selections, two Super Bowl titles and Hall of Fame numbers. His huge personality will give him a lot of opportunities in broadcast or other mediums. After a career of broken arms, torn ACLs and concussions, there is no reason for him to risk his life anymore.

True competitors squeeze every ounce of their talent until there is no more left. Leaving everything on the field is an honor and privilege that Gronk has the opportunity to uphold and he should come back if he is still standing.

At 28 years old, Gronkowski is still in the prime of his career. While he does hold single-season records for receiving yards and touchdowns for a tight end, he is still a long way from topping Tony Gonzalez's career yards and receptions marks. He is also not even close to equalling Antonio Gates' career touchdown mark for tight ends. There is still a lot of Gronkowski to accomplish. He shouldn't walk away from the game.
