It's that time of year again. The real NHL season begins. The Stanley Cup is up for grabs and 16 teams are vying the biggest prize in hockey. In the first round, the Washington Capitals are facing off against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Capitals have Alex Ovechkin still producing like a star and the team will rally around him to win. However, the Blue Jackets have an elite goaltender in Sergei Bobrovsky who will stop everything to help Columbus move on. Who advances? 🏒

At 32 years old, Alex Ovechkin's time in the NHL may be coming to an end but at least he's going out with a bang. The Russian forward led the NHL with 49 goals this season and shows no sign of slowing down.

With a strong team behind him, with no glaring weaknesses, this could be the year Ovechkin wins it all. The Capitals will wipe the ice with the Blue Jackets.

The Columbus Blue Jackets were like deer in headlights when they were destroyed by the Pittsburgh Penguins last year. But they have seemingly gotten over that mental hump, overcoming roadblock after roadblock this season to clinch another playoff spot.

Columbus has recovered from a number of injuries in its defensive ranks and Sergei Bobrovsky looks sharp coming into the playoffs. This team is ready to take the next step. The Blue Jackets won't let the Capitals stop them.
