The New York Islanders fired general manager Garth Snow and head coach Doug Weight, bringing in Hockey Hall of Famer Lou Lamoriello to run the franchise. Lamoriello built the New Jersey Devils from a league joke to Stanley Cup winners and he can do the same for the Islanders. Still, New York finished near the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. They're going to need more than Lamoriello to recover. What do you think? 🏒

Lou Lamoriello built the New Jersey Devils into a hockey powerhouse, winning five Stanley Cups since he took over the team in 1987. Before that, the Devils never had a winning season. In fact, the Devils never won more than 40 percent of their games in any given season.

If Lou Lamoriello could save the Devils, he can totally save the Islanders.

The Islanders were a joke before Lamoriello, and they will still be a joke when he's running the show. The team has no heart and no pride. That doesn't just change with one person. The team is going to need a lot more help if they want to be successful again.
