Dwane Casey agreed to a five-year deal as the Detroit Pistons' new head coach. Some are praising the move, especially since Casey built the Raptors into a perennial playoff team. Others are more skeptical, pointing to Casey's inability to move past the Eastern Conference Semifinal during his time in Toronto. Is it a good hire? 🏀

Casey took the Toronto Raptors from a 22-win team to a perennial playoff squad in two years, and that's exactly what the Pistons need right now. Detroit has been to the playoffs once in the last nine years and underperformed with two All-Star big men in Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin. Casey knows how to get the most out of his players. A playoff appearance is all but guaranteed next year.

The Pistons had talent last year, but they couldn't get it all together to make it to the postseason. Casey is a good coach, but it took him two years before he got the Raptors to the playoffs. With the struggling team still trying to find it's identity, it'll be an uphill battle to make the playoffs in his first year as head coach.
