Boston Celtics' guard Kyrie Irving had season-ending knee surgery, dealing a big blow to the team's championship aspirations. Irving's presence on the court has been invaluable to the Celtics, and losing him basically assures their NBA Finals dreams are crushed. Still, Boston has Al Horford and a team of talented young guns ready to prove themselves. The team still has more than enough talent to make a deep run into the postseason. What do you think? 🏀

The Celtics were going to be fine without Gordon Hayward because Irving was there to save the day. Now that he's down, there's no one left to save Boston. Al Harford couldn't carry the Atlanta Hawks when he was the man, and young guns like Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have too little experience to really carry the team in the playoffs. Irving's championship pedigree could've gotten the Celtics to a title. But now, there is no hope.

People seem to forget that Boston has a pretty ferocious squad even without Kyrie Irving. The Celtics might not have the same offensive punch, but they have better defensive team on the court, holding opponents to 101.9 per 100 possessions as opposed to 106.5 when he's on the court. With Brad Stevens at the helm, this team is equipped to handle anything in the postseason. Look how deep the team went last year with just Isaiah Thomas! The Celtics are going to be fine.
