At least five people were injured when two shooters opened fire at a Texas football game. The shooters' motives have not been determined, but many are wondering why they were carrying guns in the first place. Some feel that the Second Amendment should allow lawful citizens to carry weapons at sporting events. Others think that this incident shows why having guns at athletic events is a terrible idea. What do you think? 🏟 🔫

Bad people are going to get guns no matter what. The only way to counter bad actors is to give good people the opportunity to protect others. Allowing concealed carry gun owners to enter stadiums adds an extra deterrent to anyone thinking about hurting stadium attendees.

Arkansas was close to allowing guns at college sporting events but was stymied by legislation that exempted university events from expanded conceal carry areas. This is a mistake. Responsible gun owners should be allowed to protect themselves and others around them.

Nothing good happens when you combine alcohol and guns. People may think they are safer with guns at sporting events, but they are in even more danger. Lower inhibitions mean people are quicker to anger and if there is a gun around, someone is going to get hurt.

Allowing guns where emotions are high is a disaster waiting to happen. Schools or professional teams don't want blood on their hands. Never allow guns at sporting events.
