Barron Trump recently celebrated his 12th birthday, and while some sent their congratulations, others used it as an opportunity to press the president on gun control. A "Saturday Night Live" writer was suspended after tweeting a harsh joke about Donald Trump's son, with many arguing Barron should be off-limits to jokes and criticism. But others find it hypocritical that a man who has attacked other people's family members is offended when it happens to him. What do you think?

Barron Trump recently celebrated his 12th birthday. While some sent him their congratulations, others used it to joke about the president and also pressure him about gun control.

Students attending the same school as Barron recently sent an open letter calling on the president to do more to end the gun violence epidemic.

The school attended by President Donald Trump’s youngest son has signed an open letter calling on his father and Congress to do more to tackle the epidemic of gun violence and to prevent the arming of teachers with firearms.
“We urge our president, our Congress, and our state leaders to enact specific, rigorous measures to reduce gun violence in our society, particularly in our schools,” read the letter, which was signed by St. Andrew’s Episcopal School head Robert Kosasky.

But there was an outpouring support for Barron after he was ridiculed and criticized on Twitter by a "Saturday Night Live" writer.

Judging by the reaction to a “Saturday Night Live” writer’s tweet, one norm of American politics remains unshakable: The children of presidents should be off limits... It was a rare point of agreement across the political spectrum on social media over a weekend during which hundreds of thousands of people marched to protest the new administration.

But comedians rallied around Katie Rich after she was suspended indefinitely for her "SNL" tweet. Attacking comedians for making jokes sets a dangerous precedent.

Not to mention the right to free speech.
