Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt has been facing pressure to resign over ballooning scandals involving his lavish spending habits, a shady condo deal and most recently, an affinity for Ritz-Carlton moisturizerReports suggest the White House considered firing Pruitt, but President Trump repeatedly defended his EPA chief. Pruitt has been one of the most effective cabinet secretaries in terms of rolling back regulations, and many conservatives want him to stay. What do you think?

Axios compiled a list of EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt's scandals. Here are some of the most bizarre ones:

👉  "His staff spent over $1,500 on fountain pens, CNN reported, and more than $1,600 on journals."

👉  "He tried to use his position to get his wife a job as a Chick-fil-A franchisee, per the Washington Post."

👉  "Pruitt requested that his 24/7 security detail help him find 'a favorite moisturizing lotion' offered at Ritz-Carlton hotels, and retrieve his dry cleaning without him, the Washington Post reported."

Many lawmakers have already called on President Trump to fire Pruitt using the hashtag #BootPruitt.

Between the corruption and his anti-science attitude, Pruitt is unfit to head the EPA.

But Trump has repeatedly defended his EPA chief and doesn't appear interested in firing him.

According to Politico, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly wanted to fire the scandal-scarred EPA chief, but Trump wants to keep him around. Scandals aside, Pruitt is one of Trump's most effective cabinet secretaries when it comes to dismantling Obama-era policy. A few high-priced flights hardly seem a good enough reason to let him go just yet.

Pruitt is doing the job President Donald Trump wants — including an announcement Monday that the agency will reverse the Obama administration’s attempt to tighten fuel efficiency standards for cars and trucks. Multiple people close to the president still argue that Pruitt is one of Trump’s most effective Cabinet members in making policy.

Pruitt is being targeted because he's effective at doing what liberals hate—plain and simple.
