Florida Gov. Rick Scott officially announced he will be running against Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson in 2018 to represent Florida in the U.S. Senate.

The announcement has been met with mixed reactions, especially from those who feel Scott's entry into the race will make it particularly grueling and expensive.
