Should President Trump make Kanye West his Director of African-American Outreach?

President Trump told reality star Kim Kardashian that his approval rating among black voters grew by 11 percent after her husband, rapper and hip-hop mogul Kanye West, praised him on Twitter. If this is in fact true, some feel Kanye West should pick up where Omarosa Manigault left off and become Trump's new Director of African-American outreach. But others feel Kanye is a joke who is just being provocative to sell records. What do you think?

According to Bloomberg, President Trump told Kim Kardashian that his approval rating with black voters has doubled ever since her husband Kanye West embraced him. Trump also credited West for his numbers boost at a Texas rally last month.

“Kanye West must have some power because you probably saw I doubled my African American poll numbers. We went from 11 to 22 in one week,” Trump said May 4 at the National Rifle Association’s annual conference in Texas, without identifying the source of the data.

Kanye went on a pro-Trump Twitter rant earlier this year, referring to him as his "brother" and claiming they're both "dragon energy."

He even tweeted a photo of a signed MAGA hat.

And Trump praised Kanye for his support.

But others have turned their backs on Kanye for good.

He literally said slavery was "a choice," this man has no business purporting to represent the black community. TMZ employee Van Lathan went off on the rapper.

"While you are making music and being an artist and living the life that you've earned by being a genius, the rest of us in society have to deal with these threats to our lives," Lathan said. "We have to deal with the marginalization that's come from the 400 years of slavery that you said for our people was a choice."

Kanye just wants attention to sell albums (and possibly run for president in 2024).
