CNN's Anderson Cooper will host a town hall with former FBI Director James Comey, and many believe this is proof of Comey's desire to be in the spotlight. Comey was shouted down last year by protesters at Howard University, and many still view him as a villain due to his track record at the FBIBut others argue Comey is a hero, not a villain and he has been a huge proponent of the Mueller investigation into President Trump. What do you think?

Former FBI Director James Comey will reportedly participate in a CNN town hall with Anderson Cooper to answer questions about his career at the FBI and his firing by President Trump.

Many are excited for the town hall. Comey has all the tea when it comes to the Trump/Mueller saga.

But others think Comey still isn't deserving of any praise after having tilted the election for Trump in the first place.

This isn't the first time Comey has been attacked. He was shouted down by protesters for nearly 5 minutes as he gave his opening convocation speech to Howard University last year. While Comey has been lionized in the press for his damning testimony regarding President Trump, many believe we shouldn't overlook Comey's controversial tenure at the FBI, especially concerning police brutality against people of color.

Comey was seen as very much pro-police when he was top cop, including his supportive stance on the so-called “Ferguson effect,” which theorized that violent crime was on the rise in the U.S. because of more scrutiny on the police in light of protests against police brutality.

The FBI has a long, complicated history with the black community, and James Comey hasn't exactly been great when it comes to issues of police behavior.

But others felt the protesters were misguided in their outrage. Comey pledged to give his $100,000 Howard salary back to the students in the form of scholarships, and he might just be the person who ultimately brings down President Trump.
