Fox News ran a segment with a poll that showed Americans trust them less than CNN and MSNBC. Fox famously skews right, but even conservatives are aghast at the increasingly alarmist claims of Fox primetime stars like Sean Hannity. Critics say Fox promotes baseless conspiracy theories that undermine American institutions. But the network's loyalists say Fox provides a much-needed counterpoint to the liberal, anti-Trump mainstream media. What do you think? 🗣️

Fox News aired a poll showing they are less trusted than their competitors, and Twitter had a good laugh.

Conservative columnist Jennifer Rubin argues in Politico that Fox News is doing serious damage to its reputation and the country by peddling untruths, and compared the network to the Kremlin's mouthpiece RT (Russia Today). Republican consultant Steve Schmidt said the network is running interference for President Trump and his administration.

“The network is increasingly engaged in a misinformation campaign aimed directly at the American people for the purposes of sowing confusion and spinning a web of protective armor around the president, who is being investigated,” said Steve Schmidt, the Republican political strategist who ran John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign.

But at the National Review, Kevin Williamson says Fox News is no different than other networks, all of which have some kind of bias and agenda. It's just that everybody loves to beat up on Fox.

Fox News is a personalities-driven opinion network with occasional news reports; it is inevitable that its broadcast hours will be more rapidly punctuated by controversial statements than those of, for example, ABC.
But others argue Fox crossed the lines of bias into propaganda and outright lying to advance the right-wing agenda.

Trump's critics argue the president is far too close with the network's anchors, and they have far too much influence over his worldview.

But Fox loyalists say the network covers stories the mainstream media won't touch. For millions of Americans, it's the only news source they trust.

And President Trump has continued to prop up Fox News as the only honest network out there.
