President Trump canceled a White House event celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl win, accusing athletes of being unpatriotic and disrespectful. None of the Philadelphia players ever knelt in protest during the national anthem, yet many on the right say athletes who kneel to protest police violence during the national anthem or refuse to visit the White House are "ungrateful." Others argue that patriotism comes in many forms, and protest is one of them. What do you think? 🇺🇸

Many veterans say they don't feel disrespected by NFL protesters, in fact, peaceful protest is one of the most important democratic values they fought for.

Colin Kaepernick spoke with ex-Green Beret and NFL player Nate Boyer about his protest, and specifically chose to kneel as a gesture of reverence.

But others agree with Trump's characterization of the protest: the anthem and the flag are symbols of American servicemen and women, kneeling during the anthem disrespects their sacrifice.

Others argue that from MLK to Black Lives Matter, any way that black people protest racial injustice in America is going to be construed as disrespectful by conservatives. There is no way these players would be able to do it "right" for their critics.
