It's been 20 years since "Sex And The City" premiered, and we couldn't help but wonder: of the show's four female leads, who's your favorite? Cynthia Nixon played lawyer Miranda Hobbes—the Spock-like sarcastic voice of reason (who nevertheless once ate cake out of a trash can). Kim Cattrall played party-loving publicist Samantha Jones—an adventure-seeking sexual libertine who broke rules with aplomb and DGAF what anyone in New York thought of her. Are you #TeamMirandaHobbes or #TeamSamanthaJones? 🍸🌃 👠

Fans are celebrating 20 years since "Sex and the City" premiered. So we want you to tell us who's your favorite character of the show's four female leads. In the first round, it's Carrie versus Charlotte, and Miranda versus Samantha. Vote now if you want your fave to make it to the final round!

Miranda has been a dark horse favorite for many years. While her sarcastic quips often enrage the rest of the foursome, she's the most reality-based of the group. She actually chastises them for talking about men too much. She's the friend who tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

Roger Ebert described Samantha Jones as a "sexaholic slut," but Samantha is the kind of person who would probably put that on a T-shirt and wear it with pride. Samantha Jones DGAF what you or anybody else thinks of her. She prides herself on "having sex like a man," with few emotional attachments, no shame and no regrets. Indeed, some critics argue her character's voice is actually that of a gay man, not a heterosexual woman.

Miranda is known for speaking the cold harsh truth (an association which is undoubtedly helping Nixon in her run for governor).

PREACH IT, Ms. Hobbes.

For viewers who didn't identify with Carrie's shopping sprees, Samantha's bed-hopping, or Charlotte's East Coast pedigree—Miranda eating chocolate cake out of a garbage can made them feel SEEN.

In today's TV world we have "Girls," "Broad City" and "Insecure"—so it's easy to forget that in 1999, a promiscuous woman like Samantha Jones was an absolute trailblazer. She put sex and her pleasure first, and insisted that her friends do the same. Though she was the oldest of the group, she was the least affected by societal expectations of what women should be or do.

Samantha threw an "I'm not having a baby" shower for herself. She even had sexy nude photos of herself taken, just for her own enjoyment. She made putting yourself first look cool.
