Freeform's "Cloak & Dagger" joins the ranks of other top Marvel TV shows, but fans are particularly looking for a team up with the cast of Hulu's "Runaways." Both series garnered critical acclaim for bringing live-action teenage superheroes and the issues they face to the small screen. "Cloak & Dagger" recently premiered to strong reviews, but "Runaways" established a fanbase and praise last fall. Which Marvel teen superhero show is your favorite?

Below is the synopsis of "Runaways," per IMDB

After discovering their parents are super-villains in disguise, a group of teenagers band together to run away from their homes in order to atone for their parents' actions and to discover the secrets of their origins.

The show holds an 83 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, following the series first season. "Runaways" is renewed for a second season. Indiewire's Liz Shannon Miller wrote about the series premiere:

It's off to an incredibly compelling start, thanks to Schwartz and Savage's confident storytelling, and should it keep moving forward at its current pace, it could become a truly addictive hit. As it is, it's one of Marvel's most promising series to date.

Below is the synopsis of "Cloak & Dagger," per IMDB.

Two teenagers from very different backgrounds find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love.

The series already holds an 85 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, following the series premiere. The Verge's Samantha Nelson wrote that "Cloak & Dagger" is standout among Marvel shows.

With its high school-aged heroes and romance plots, Cloak & Dagger, in theory, should have a lot in common with Hulu’s Runaways. These are similarities that could have been built in to let Cloak and Dagger cross over to other series (Runaways included), the way they do in the comics. But the focus on two teens instead of six lets Cloak & Dagger’s writers take their time and focus on character-building, instead of flitting around from one soap opera-style plot to the next. It also helps that the protagonists’ parents in Cloak & Dagger are flawed but reasonable people, as opposed to mass-murdering supervillains who are still meant to draw audience sympathy. The smaller cast also tones down Runaways’ convoluted relationship configurations, in favor of ones that are easier to follow but still emotionally complicated. In the comics, Tandy and Tyrone are superhero partners as well as romantic partners, but on the show, they still have a long way to go before they reach either outcome. The one-sided relationships they start in are doomed, but their initial partners don’t feel disposable. It’s only easy to root against them because the chemistry between Tyrone and Tandy is electric.
