Kanye West blamed his recent comments about slavery on bipolar disorder, and Roseanne Barr admitted to taking Ambien before she made racist comments on Twitter. But the masses aren't buying Kanye's explanation, and the maker of Ambien released a statement denouncing Roseanne's excuse. Do mental health issues excuse bad celebrity behavior?

The cover of Kanye's new album "Ye" reads, "I hate being Bi-Polar...it's awesome." This is in reference to his mental health. Some fans are sympathetic to Kanye's bad behavior, while also being concerned about his mental health.

But not everyone is sympathetic. Some mental health advocates argue—that in the cases of Kanye and Roseanne—they are using "mental health issues" as a scapegoat to justify their bad behavior, with a lack of accountability for their horrible actions.
