Fifth Harmony announced their hiatus on Monday, March 19. While many fans are heartbroken, the break-up was a long time coming. 5H announced Camila Cabello's departure from the group in late 2016. Since then, she has pursued a successful solo career, scoring a #1 hit with "Havana" and a chart-topping self-titled debut album in early 2018.

Many of the remaining girls have followed in Camila's footsteps. They've released pop collaborations, but as solo artists—just like Camila did. Lauren Jauregui was featured on Halsey's "Strangers," while also collaborating with Ty Dolla Sign, Marian Hill and Steve Aoki on other tracks. Normani Kordei reached third place on "Dancing with the Stars," showcasing her showgirl moves, and released her first single called "Love Lies" with Khalid in early 2018. Ally Brooke has "Look at Us Now" with Lost Kings and "Perfect" with Topic. Dinah Jane recorded a collaboration called "Boom Boom" with RedOne, Daddy Yankee, and French Montana.

Things are looking up for the girls, but it's a bittersweet moment for Harmonizers.

Fifth Harmony recently dropped the music video for the group's final single, "Don't Say You Love Me," before going on hiatus. It's their farewell, for now, to Harmonizers everywhere.

Some fans are ready for the solo endeavors of 5H. Just look at what Camila has been able to accomplish as a solo artist, releasing both a solo #1 hit and #1 debut album in early 2018.

Also, look at the boys of One Direction: Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan all released chart-topping solo debut albums, and fans are waiting in anticipation for Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson's LPs. According to some Harmonizers, it's time the girls of 5H go solo.

While some Harmonizers are happy for 5H, it's still hard for others to accept the fact there will be no new 5H music or tour after May 2018. They want more. The truth is many groups don't really come back from hiatuses until years and years later—if we're lucky.
