"The Chappelle Show" on Comedy Central was truly one-of-a-kind. Dave Chappelle tackled race and other polarizing topics in a nontraditional sketch format. After Chappelle's abruptly left, "Key & Peele" took up the mantle of sketch comedy at the network. He revealed last year that Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele hurt his feelings by not giving him credit for their success. Others argue "Key & Peele" was funny in its own right and the duo doesn't owe anybody for anything. What do you think?

According to Entertainment Weekly, Chappelle told Gayle King on "CBS This Morning" that:

When I did Chappelle’s Show, there were certain conventions of the show that the network resisted. I fought the network very hard so that those conventions could come to fruition. So like the first episode, I do that black white supremacist sketch. And it’s like, ‘Well, that’s 10 minutes long. It should be five minutes long.’ Why should it be five minutes long? Like, these types of conventions. I fought very hard. … So when I watch Key & Peele and I see they’re doing a format that I created, and at the end of the show, it says, ‘Created by Key & Peele,’ that hurts my feelings.

Does Dave Chappelle deserve credit for 'Key & Peele'?

Chappelle definitely paved the way, but Key and Peele deserve props for continuing on a similar comedy trajectory.

Fans aren't necessarily feeling the shade. Then again, would Key and Peele exist without Chappelle?

Some critics say that Chappelle starting a feud is unnecessary.
